| News | | New Specialty Vendors at Elizabeth Farmers Market | | 6.12.2009 |  The Elizabeth Avenue Partnership (EAP) is proud to present another season of bringing homegrown, "Jersey Fresh" Produce, baked goods and specialty items to Elizabeth Avenue this season during its annual Farmers Market on Elizabeth Avenue at Union Square Plaza (between First Ave and High Street).
The Elizabeth Avenue Farmers Market runs every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. from June through November 24th. An official "Opening Day" Ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, June 30th at 11 a.m. Two preview Markets will run on Tuesday, June 16th and 23rd.
"It comes with great pleasure to announce the addition of two new specialty vendors who will be joining our Market, The Italian Treasures Cocina from Rutherford, and Ester's Organic Treats from Springfield, in addition to the State’s best Farmer, Alstede Farms," said EAP Chairman Larry Franchini, Jr., owner of Na-vet Printing.
According to Franchini, The Cocina will be selling fresh Mozzarella, Italian breads (Semolina, Focaccia), Italian cakes, sun dried tomatoes, roasted red peppers, olives and stuffed sausage/pepperoni breads.
"With the Peterstown Italian section "The Berg" located just blocks away from the Market, we're hoping to attract many new customers this year," said Franchini.
The other new specialty vendor is Ester's Treats, who will feature homebaked organic and vegan products, including muffins, scones, brownies and cookies.
The Elizabeth Market will also feature 8 weeks of Free Children's Entertainment throughout the summer, including FacePainting, Moonbounce, Snow Cones, Music, and much more. Please call the EAP at 908-965-0660 for more information.
