SIOS Performed on Elizabeth Avenue
Elizabeth Avenue - SIOS performed at the Elizabeth Avenue Partnership's Hispanic Heritage Month Lunchtime Concert Series last Tuesday, despite the rainy conditions. SIOS rocked Union Square Plaza with a mixture of original and cover songs, which included "Hotel California" by the Eagles, "Black Magic Woman" by Carlos Santana,"The Wall" by Pink Floyd and other classic rock favorites. They also played songs from their new album, "Halcyon Failure" featuring hit single, "Garden of Shades." SIOS consists of (pictured from left to right)lead singer and bassist, Philip "Dice" DeFreitas (18 years old: Brazilian), Christian "Enigma" Cruz, lead guitarist and backing vocalist (23 yrs old: Puerto Rican), Gabriel Scholis-Fernandez, drummer and backing vocalist (17 years old, Cuban&Ecuadoran) and April "Ape" Copes (21 years old: Dominican & Native American), Rhythm guitarist (not in photo). The Band performed at the Elizabeth Avenue Farmers Market which runs every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until November 27th.

The final act of the Hispanic Heritage Month concerts is schedule for Tuesday, October 16th from 12-2 p.m. featuring Latin Jazz guitarists, Trio Cristal.
