EAP to Host First Golf Outing!
Elizabeth Avenue Partnership to host First Annual Golf Outing

Elizabeth Avenue---The Elizabeth Avenue Partnership (EAP) is taking to the fairways this spring for a very important cause -- the continued revitalization of the Elizabeth Avenue Business District.

The First Annual EAP Golf Outing will tee-off Tuesday, May 7th at the recently renovated and redesigned Galloping Hill Golf Course in Kenilworth, NJ. All proceeds from this major fundraiser will go toward supporting the organization’s mission of revitalizing the Elizabeth Avenue shopping district through beautification, safety, security, parking and event programming.

The Golf Outing will kick off with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. with registration beginning at 7 a.m. A Continental Breakfast will be served while golfers will have the opportunity to warm up at the new 52-booth driving range or partake in an exciting putting contest before taking to the links where a “closest to the pin” “longest drive” and two “hole-in-one” contests will be held featuring great prizes, including a chance to win a Rolex watch sponsored by Leonardo Jewelers or a $10,000 sponsored by Angel L. Rodriguez of State Farm Insurance. At the conclusion of the tournament a barbecue ‘picnic’ luncheon will run from 2:30-4:30 p.m. where the awards ceremony and raffles will be held.

The newly renovated Galloping Hill Golf Course, sprawls across 271 acres in Kenilworth and Union and boasts a brand new, state-of-the-art 45,000 square foot banquet facility, completely renovated golf course and Taylor Made Learning Center. Characterized by its natural terrain of rolling hills and valleys, the course often referred to as "The Hill", has a reputation as one of the most challenging courses in the area and is the new home of the NJ State Golf Association Headquarters.

Chairwoman, Ivette Zeik-Fernicola, who is also a co-owner of Leonardo Jewelers, believes this golf outing hosted by the EAP is an excellent way to raise money for the organization while bringing together members of the business community for a great day of golf, giveaways, prizes and a delicious barbecue lunch served out on the beautiful new veranda overlooking the entire course.

“The EAP funds many projects throughout our district,” said Zeik-Fernicola. “We fund the Police patrols, graffiti clean-up and many different events throughout the year directed towards children and families. We are a community that helps and looks after one another and we would love you to join us on this beautiful course for what looks to be a very exciting day of golf.”

Many opportunities are available for participation in the golf outing at many sponsorship levels such as Event Sponsor, BBQ Dinner Sponsor, Breakfast Sponsor, Golf Cart Sponsor, Refreshment Cart Sponsor, Driving Range Sponsor, Putting Green Sponsor, Longest Drive Sponsor, Closest-to-the-pin Sponsor and Hole/Tee Sponsor. For those who do not golf, reservations are also available to just attend the barbecue or make a donation.

“I hope that not only are we successful in raising much needed funds, but this outing will be a way to show people not only within our district, but people from outside of our district who the EAP is and what we are doing to better Elizabeth Avenue. Hopefully people will see what a great organization we are and we will have new people wanting to join our board and find ways to help keep our district flourish,” said Zeik-Fernicola.

Emerson Amador of Alligator Property Management will serve as chairman the golf committee which consists of Angel L. Rodriguez of State Farm Insurance, Manuel Sanchez, Esq. Sanchez, Sanchez & Santoliquido, Salvatore Coppa, Jonathan Phillips, Groundwork Elizabeth and Marco Salermo of Salermo Jewelers.
